I thought I would hate her by the ending but was pleasantly surprised because I ended up liking her. When I started reading I did read slow because the main female character called Lucy was incredible immature and made such poor, stupid choices and I just wanted to scream at her to open her eyes!! It was pretty typical teenage behaviour and also we see aspects of bullying, peer pressure and much more. I truly hope you start reading it today, you won't be able to put this gem of a book down!Īs I have said before I have kind of gone off YA and I hardly read them unless they are dystopia or fantasy which is again still on rare occasions.But I thought I would give it a shot and hope for the best.

Readers will be intrigued by the slow transformation of Lucy, as she realizes what a superficial and hurtful person she has become, but knowing it will be incredibly difficult, if not impossible to change after all the darkness and hurt she has endured in her sixteen years of life.

While the main plot is the developing attraction of spunky (but bratty) Lucy to that of popular, hardworking and handsome Justin, there are a number of other subplots that keep the reader captivated, forcing you to read "just one more chapter." For such a quick and easy read this book is not simple, it has many facets that will make reading (and re-reading) it enjoyable to anyone.
